Core Training
When to Hold 'em, When to Fold 'em, When to Walk Away, and When to Run
When to Hold Them
One of the hardest parts of this process is going to be holding certain things back. This may feel very unnatural, but there are certain statements that will backfire on you.
When to Fold Them
Folding is all about managing impulses/reactivity. Choosing the "fold" technique may feel like you're letting them get away with things. Choosing not to engage is different from ignoring. It's not giving someone a pass. It's making strategic decisions!
When to Walk Away
When we feel ourselves getting into a reactive state, it's a sign that we need to walk away. Sometimes we just need to walk away from a situation, conversation, or argument? Other times we need to walk away from a situation completely?
When to Run
In this section, we explore how to know when you need to quickly get some distance from the situation.
What types of situations are most likely to trigger you to be reactive?
How will you know when you need to get out of the situation completely?
Are you in a dangerous situation?
What should I not be tolerating in this relationship?
