If you're already dreading the holidays, you're not alone.

When addiction is part of your family, the holidays can feel like something to get through instead of something to enjoy. Maybe some of this sounds familiar:

Fear & anxiety

That knot in your stomach every time you think about the next family gathering.

Resentment

The feeling that addiction has stolen the joy from a season you used to love.

Exhaustion

Staying on high alert while manufacturing happiness for the kids, the grandparents, everyone else.

Loneliness

Feeling like nobody else in the world understands what you're living with.

Sadness

Missing your loved one, whether they're in treatment, out of touch, or just not the person they used to be.

Responsibility

Being the one in charge of keeping the peace and managing the chaos.

Confusion

Wondering what's really happening, how you got here, and what your role is supposed to be.

Dread

Playing out how it will all go down, and second-guessing what you should or shouldn't do.

Financial strain

Treatment costs, lost jobs, or debt from the addiction that make gift-giving feel impossible.

This year, you get to choose peace.

In this live group, Kim and Campbell will help you name the emotions you don't want to feel this holiday season. Then you'll walk through the situations most likely to come up and get practical, clear advice on how to handle each one.

Think of it as permission to stop letting addiction run the holidays, and to start planning for the season you actually want.

Meet your guides

Campbell

Campbell has lived this. Both of her sons struggled with addiction, and she knows what it's like to dread every phone call and stop recognizing yourself. After working with Amber through her own family's crisis, she went back to school at 53 to become a counselor so she could help other parents find their way through.

She has a BA from the University of Virginia and a master's from Clemson University.

Kim

Kim has worked on the front lines of addiction treatment, including inpatient care at Carolina Center for Behavioral Health and intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs, and has spent years helping families find their footing.

She brings calm logic and clear perspective to messy family situations, and she's especially good with people who find it hard to open up.

You'll walk away feeling:

  • Validated. What you're feeling makes sense, and you're not the only one feeling it.
  • Knowledgeable. You'll understand what's happening and what your role really is.
  • Empowered. You'll have strategies you can actually use at the dinner table.
  • Aware. You'll know which emotions show up for you, and why.
  • Hopeful. You'll leave with your own Peaceful, Purposeful Plan for the holidays.

Questions you might have

Who is this for?

Spouses, parents, and anyone who loves someone struggling with addiction. If the holidays feel heavier because of someone else's drinking or using, this is for you.

My loved one is in treatment right now. Is this still for me?

Yes. This call is about you, and about not letting the problem take over your holidays, wherever your loved one is right now.

Will it be recorded?

No. This is a live, private group, so plan to join us in real time.

Do I have to be on camera?

No, you can keep your camera off. We do love to see you when you're comfortable, especially when you're asking a question.
